We all know that America has a huge economy. From Google and Facebook to Coca Cola and McDonalds, you are most likely interacting with some American brands on a daily basis.
To show how big America's $16.7 trillion dollar economy is, America's Enterprise Institute took each state's GDP and compared it with the GDP of other countries.
We've pulled the countries in the Middle East that made the list, as well as their population sizes. Although this isn't a direct analysis, as the map is merely comparing GDP and not other factors, it is interesting to see that the only countries who have lower populations that their stateside counterpart – essentially, doing more with less resources – are Kuwait and Qatar. Which makes sense, because, oil.
Kuwait (3.4 million residents) - Tennesse (6.5 million residents)
Qatar (2.2 million) - Alabama (4.8 million)
Saudi Arabia (28.8 million) - Illinois (12.8 million)
UAE (9.4 million) - Washington (7 million)
Lebanon (4.5 million) - Montana (1 million)
Morocco (33 million) - Nebraska (1.8 million)
Libya (6.2 million ) - New Hampshire (1.3 million)
