The editor of Qatar's leading newspaper Jaber Al Harmi announced his resignation this week, after the paper accidentally printed pornographic images in the Sunday edition.
Harmi offered his resignation after one of his photo editors illustrated a story about henna with pictures of henna tattoos that featured some sexy images from the Indian sex manual, the Kama Sutra.
Fun times. Or sexy times as the case may be.
The article was meant to illustrate the harms of henna but instead, as Harmi said, "crossed the red line." At least when editors issue apologies they aren't afraid to use their puns .
No word yet on if his resignation was accepted or not. The photo editor was already fired and his supervisor has been reprimanded.
Harmi's full statement is below:
I take full responsibility before Allah, my country Qatar, and the people who trusted me with the words and pictures we publish. I also assume my full responsibilities before the board of administration who entrusted to me the task of leading the newspaper team. God is my witness that what happened is a completely unintentional mistake.
