Living alone can be incredibly difficult for anyone. I mean, in theory, it would seem like the perfect solution for a lot of things like staying up late, not having to listen to anyone yell or nag at you, eating whatever you want whenever you want and so on.

But the truth is, those are just a small portion of what you you go through. If you choose to be independent, you have to take the good, the bad and the really bad.

1. You have to learn how to cook... eventually

I know it's tempting to keep ordering junk food but let's be real, this kind of lifestyle is not sustainable. Eventually, you'll need the money to pay bills, buy new clothes etc.. Use your money wisely.

2. You can eat and drink whatever you want, whenever you want

If you do that, be prepared to pay for a gym membership real soon.

3. You have to clean the house

How did mom do all of this? If this doesn't make you appreciate your mom, I don't know what will.

4. When you hear a noise, you'll automatically assume your demise

5. You're on your own when it comes to turning off appliances
