British Prime Minister >Theresa May seemed to be up for a challenge against Italian PM Giuseppe Conte during the EU-Arab League summit on Feb. 24.
A heated match ensued between the two politicians, but it wasn't political matters that got in the way. It was a game of billiards.
The two got to challenge each other during the two-day summit - which took place in Sharm El Sheikh.
Conte posted a video of their billiards competition on Facebook and Twitter, accompanied with the caption:
"Let's play pool Theresa May."
The video has since amassed millions of views and lots (like lots) of commentary.
People couldn't help but mock May for her "delays"
With almost a month till the Brexit deadline - which is set to see Britain leave the European Union - May has yet again delayed a parliamentary vote with regards to the deal.
Countless "Brexit" jokes followed
Some criticized her competency in the game of politics
"Far too accurate a metaphor for Brexit negotiations"
"We are on the brink of disaster and she is playing pool"
In June 2016, the British people voted to leave the European Union, causing a >major breakdown within the nation and all around the world. David Cameron, then Prime Minister, announced his resignation, the British pound fell to its lowest level in 30 years during the vote, and it hasn't been smooth sailing since.
In March 2017, May triggered a process which would allow the UK to leave the EU according to the terms of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty - giving both sides two years to agree to the terms.
With that, the UK is scheduled to exit from the EU on March 29, 2019. According to the BBC, a European court has ruled that the "UK can decide to halt the process and stay in the EU at any time up to the deadline."
Another alternative to an extension would be if all 28 EU members vote for one.
