For as long as mankind can remember, Luxor, Egypt, has been a prime tourist destination for its prominent beauty and historical significance. From the final resting place of King Tutankhamen to its vast Valley of the Kings, the former capital city of Egypt is never short of magnificent wonders or its phenomenal ability to ignite one's imagination.
As the fashion scene continues to grow in Cairo, the rest of the country is following suit, creating multiple fashion festivals, fashion designers and fashion schools. With this growing of the ever creative trade, the Nefertiti International Fashion Festival came to life, leaving many excited, proud, and ecstatic.
The festival, which is due to take place on Jan. 21 and 22., is sponsored by the Tourism Ministry and the Egyptian Tourist Authority.
However, it was Mona Al Mansouri, an Emariti fashion tycoon and designer who first came up with the idea in an attempt to bring people together and provide the opportunity for unbiased and equivalent cultural exchange between participating nations.
"The Nefertiti International Fashion Festival aims to bring together people from all the world, tourists, business owners and fashion enthusiasts alike," the official website reads. "The event creates the opportunity to enhance tourism in Egypt and encourage cultural exchange."
This year's festival will have a number of established designers and rising stars in the fashion industry.
Mona Al Mansouri, the first Emariti fashion designer, launched her career in 1991 with a double degree in biological and geological engineering and met with overwhelming success as she had her designs displayed in Italy, Switzerland, Britain, Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar and Bahrain.
Omainah Azouz, an up-and-coming Saudi designer will also be featured in the festival. Azouz, who graduated with an art degree from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, always had a love for Islamic designs and decorations.
Azouz's ability to create elegant masterpieces of art knows no bounds, using her artistic talents in other fields such as plastic painting and interior design.
