Moroccan beauty queen Nouhaila Lmelki was arrested after she ran over two homeless kids while drunk driving last week, Morocco World News reported.
The horrific incident took place in Marrakech on Saturday and saw the pageant winner kill two 15-year-old homeless teenagers who were pronounced dead at the scene.
Lmelki، who often dubs herself as "barbie," and a female passenger who was with her at the time, were detained after authorities arrived at the crash site.
The two had reportedly been partying in the hours before the accident.
The beauty queen now faces trial
According to local news sources, a Moroccan court scheduled the first hearing in Lmelki's case for September 18.
She faces charges including “murder, excessive speed and lack of maneuver.”
If convicted, the beauty queen who is known for winning several pageants, namely the title of Miss Universe of the World 2018, faces years in jail.
