Who doesn’t love the homey loving feeling that a lunchbox gives us? Even when we’ve packed it myself, we love opening it and thinking, "I am actually taking the time to take care of myself. My body and I really deserve it!"

Here are 4 reasons why we're bring lunch boxes back into adulthood:

1. They help with weight management

Whether your goal is to lose, gain or maintain weight, planning your meals ahead of time is key to success. Getting in the habit of preparing a lunchbox means shopping for healthy ingredients and doing a bit of prep on the weekend or the evening before. Making decisions outside work usually means that you can have more time, be less hungry and less stressed- three factors which have been proven to help you make wiser more nutritionally satisfying decisions.

2. They help maintain your energy levels

Having a lunchbox means that you will more likely be reminded to eat those delicious and healthy snacks and meals throughout the day. This will help in maintaining your blood sugar, leading you to keep your energy levels up throughout the day and have a more positive mood. In other words, you won’t reach a point during your work day where you’re so hungry you can’t focus, or you’ve eaten too much you just want to sleep. In fact, we can almost guarantee you will finish work ready to get your work-out on! And guess what? Your lunchbox will have your pre-workout snack ready for you to give you that push you need to finish the last few minutes of your post work gym session like a “beast” (As our personal trainer Ali would say!)

3. They save a whole lot of money

Let’s be honest- wouldn’t you rather spend that delivery money planning your summer vacation? Yes don’t be surprised, these things add up. If you manage to save only $5 per day by pre-packing your lunch, that adds up to around $1400 per year. We’ve done the math and you are likely to save even more than 5$ a day. I can think of at least 14 things I’d rather spend that money on.

4. They will make everyone at work jealous

Before you get the wrong idea – we’re talking here about the good kind of jealous, the one the influences people around you to also make healthier choices. That’s how it worked with us at least! We met these lunchboxes back when we were doing our internship at AUBMC. Baraa (our dietitian and personal trainer at Healthy Happy Us ) started bringing her delicious lunch with her in one of these lunchboxes. It was nutritious, delicious, temperature controlled and stylish. Okay stylish might be a stretch, but it didn’t look like something a 6-year-old would take to school.
