It seems that the Lebanese just prefer the French.
After a poor showing at America's fashion event of the year, the Met Gala Ball, Lebanese designers were out in full-force at Cannes Film Festival this year, with Georges Hobeika stealing the spotlight as one of the best international designers at the festival.
A few of the actresses who wore his Parisian-designs include Eva Longoria, Iranian-icon Michele Laroque, Negin Mirsalehi, Virginie LeDoyen, Charlotte Le Bon, Turkish actress Cansu Dere and Russian model Tatiana Dziahileva.
Lebanese designers Elie Saab and Zuhair Muraad were not left-behind in the Hobeika-mania, with Andie MacDowell and Naomi Watts donning Saab.
Murad was the preferred-choice for many French actresses as well, including Mélanie Laurent.
Our favorite director and actress Nadine Labiki will wear Hobeika this May 22, after wearing Saab earlier in the festival.
Cannes, the biggest film event of the year, is hosted in the south of France and is a staple of the international glitterati.
