Two British lawyers, reportedly sisters, were >recently accused of physically and verbally assaulting a policewoman after they had been arrested for "drunkenness" outside a hotel in Al Barsha area in the UAE.
As the news of their arrest became public, details on the sisters' history surfaced. According to The Daily Mail, the two are said to have worked in twin-themed porn films to fund their law studies.
Alena and Sasha Parker, born in Belarus, met British TV director, Miles Parker, while he was working on a film in Russia. The latter facilitated their move to the UK to study law.
Alena married Parker in 2001, and her sister then also took Parker's last name. After finishing their studies, the twins moved to Dubai in 2007.
Miles Parker declined to "discuss the twins participation in pornographic films," when speaking to The Daily Mail.
However, The Daily Mail found photos of the twins starring in at least two adult films.
The cover photos of the films referred to the sisters as "The Love Twins" with a slogan below the photo that reads:
"Double the pleasure...double the fun!"
Sim-Wise, an old-timer model, tweeted that she used to be a "stripper with these two girls"
On April 25, Wise shared a series of tweets describing her encounter with the twins.
"There was a mirrored corridor in the club and they would stand back to back in the middle of it saying 'fuck me' to their own reflections," she wrote in one of the tweets.
During a >court hearing on Monday, the accused "pleaded not guilty and refuted the charges," according to Gulf News.
The arrest of the women came following reported "outrageous behavior" outside the hotel in August 2017.
Their disturbance led to a dispatch of policemen to the area. After refusing to cooperate with the policeman, the twins were arrested. Upon arrival to the police station, the policeman called his female colleague to escort the sisters and was assaulted for it.
"They surprisingly attacked me, and I don’t know why. They assaulted me and pushed me down on the floor … I fell down and injured my head and elbow," the policewoman said, according to Gulf News.
"While they were being taken for an alcohol test, they cursed me and cursed Arab women. One of them also scratched my hand with her nails," she added.
Three policemen and a lieutenant confirmed the policewoman's claims during the court hearings. Prosecutors charged the sisters of "assaulting a policewoman and cursing her," and then transferred the case to the Dubai Court of First Instance.
The suspects' lawyer requested the court hears out the prosecution witnesses' statements during the next court hearing.
The sisters told The Daily Mail that they "trust the UAE judicial system and (are) sure about our innocence, we are confident that the justice will be served."
Under current UAE laws, possessing or drinking alcohol without a license could land people in jail for up to six months.
Alena is an associate at Al Safar & Partners whereas her sister is a case manager at the same firm.
