On Saturday night, 8-year-old Emanne Beasha overcame nine fellow finalists, awarding Jordan its very first Arabs Got Talent (AGT) title.
Known for her awe-inspiring opera performances, Beasha captured people's hearts with her rendition of the song Con Te Partirò by Andrea Bocelli during the finale of AGT's fifth season.
She earned the highest share of the audience's votes, becoming the first Jordanian and the youngest-ever AGT winner since the reality television talent show was launched in 2011.
In addition to the AGT title, Beasha took home 200,000 Saudi riyals ($53,327), as well as an all-inclusive trip to Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur.
Born to a Jordanian father and an American mother, Beasha's talent was first uncovered after her mother posted videos of her performances on >YouTube.
The child soprano wowed the judges since she first took the AGT stage, moving judge Najwa Karam to tears in her audition. Karam described Beasha's performance saying: "There's a purity in her performance," praising Beasha for her confidence.
Another member of the AGT judging panel, Ali Jaber, said that Beasha showed promising talent since her very first performance, adding that she will undoubtedly become a huge star, according to MBC.net.
In her first interview following the big win, Beasha said that she did not expect to win, despite being satisfied with her performance. She also said that this achievement is only the beginning, adding that she will work to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional opera performer.
After Beasha's victory was announced, Jordanians took to social media to express their pride:
