Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana are "thrilled" to welcome a healthy baby boy into the world.
The American pop star and her Qatari billionaire husband have named their son Eissa Al Mana, according to their publicist.
"Janet had a stress-free, healthy delivery and is resting comfortably," the publicist confirmed. At 50, some of Jackson's fans were anxious about the pregnancy. Eissa is the star's first child.
Eissa is also the Arabic name for Jesus. While the religious figure is most often associated with Christianity, he is highly revered in Islam as well.
In April, Jackson >announced that she'd be cutting her "Unbreakable" tour short. At the time, she told fans via Twitter that doctors had told her to "rest up," saying "My husband and I are planning our family."
But the couple didn't officially confirm the pregnancy until October.
Mana and Jackson have been relatively private about their relationship. Mana lead the Al Mana Group, which operates everything from fast food chains to luxury fashion brands and automakers within the GCC.
After meeting in Dubai in 2010, they were married in Qatar two years later. But, they didn't make their marriage public for one year.
