Scrolling through Twitter is promising most of the time. From finding news regarding your favorite TV show's return (I'm waiting on you, Umbrella Academy) to stumbling on a cool thread liked by a person you follow ... there's always an interesting find.

The below thread is an example of the latter possibility.

Launched by Maleek Eid, a "Muslim, Palestinian, Marketing Major, Activist, Traveler, and Cat dad" as he describes himself on Twitter, SEXISM in the Arab community got noticed pretty quickly.

The launch of a needed thread

With the help of Arab women, Eid took to the micro-blogging platform to express the frustration felt by ladies from the region regarding the black hole that is sexism.

On beginnings: "IT STARTS AT HOME"

Oh girl is he right...

Some Arab mothers just can't wait to have daughters to teach them how to clean, make Turkish coffee for guests, and help them in the kitchen.

Goodbye ambitions ... hello black hole of no hope.

On marriages: "PARENTS HOLD THEM BACK"

Hmmm ... where to begin?

Arab societies tend to make women feel they're worthless if they're ">3anes," and that's simply disgusting and pitiful.

On double standards: "SINS COUNT LESS FOR MEN"

Yeah, okay.

On honor: "WOMEN ARE THE REPUTATION"

Why? Why would a grown man with an entire football-team for a family invest all his hope, dreams, and honor on another human being ... AKA on his daughter(s)?

It simply doesn't make sense.

ATTENTION!!

"BE HER HERO!"

"BE HER HERO!"

"BE HER HERO!"

"BE HER HERO!"

On "shameful" behavior: "DEMONIZED FOR SPEAKING UP"

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Raising your voice at those who raised you? And what for? For your basic rights?

No.

On halal police: "POLICING MUSLIM WOMEN"

Men, please leave your comments to yourselves, maybe you'll learn a thing or too.

On racism: "MISOGYNOIR BY ARABS"

White, black, yellow, orange, brown, blue, indigo, and whatever color your melanin chose to ink your skin with ... stop the silly discrimination and let's focus on global warming instead.

On the most vile of them all: "SEXUAL HARASSMENT"

"CONSENT"

"CONSENT"

"CONSENT"

"CONSENT"

"To all the brave women..."

If you liked this thread, you should probably check out Eid's "Racism in the Arab community" one!

Inspired by all the hate he received on his "Racism in the Arab community" thread, Eid decided to tease all the haters by reaching out to women, Arab and Muslim, to dig deep into their experiences with sexism.

"I have been getting hate from random Arab boys about my thread on racism in the Arab community. As an apology, I'm now working on a thread about sexism in the Arab community," he tweeted.

Thanks to his ADHD, both threads were accompanied by the most accurate Disney GIFs you could find.
