Here's what Pornhub's annual report revealed about the Arab world

2018 is coming to a close, and the year saw the virtual world become more active than ever. Hilarious >memes were created, controversial >topics were debated, men were regularly proven to be >trash ... and porn was watched, aplenty.

Concerning the latter, Pornhub has released its annual Year in Review, which recapped the year's oh-so-crucial porn facts and statistics.

The 2018 Year in Review included statistics about Pornhub users in general, with a focus on the top 20 countries that make up 80 percent of the website's daily traffic.

In case you haven't heard of it (sure 😉,) Pornhub is the largest pornography site on the internet. The company regularly collects data from its users and puts together an annual report of its findings.

So, what did the report find out about the Arab world?

First off, no Arab country is among the top 20 countries with the most active Pornhub users, meaning the report did not include in-depth statistics about any Arab country. 

However, here is some data about the region: 

According to the map above, Arab porn is common in Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, lesbian porn is common in Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon.

Porn viewers in Oman prefer the MILF (Mother I'd Like to F*ck) category, while those in Mauritania usually watch ebony porn.

It is worth noting that pornography is banned in some Arab countries, such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, but people have crafted methods to access blocked porn sites.

When it comes to the proportion of female visitors, Pornhub found that the rate is less than the worldwide average (29 percent) in most Arab countries, with the proportion of female visitors particularly low in the Gulf region.

The Lebanese-American former porn star is the second most searched-for porn star by female users, following Stormy Daniels, U.S. President Donald Trump's rumored pre-presidential mistress.

The former is also the most popular porn star in South Africa, and the second most popular in several countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, France, and Brazil.

Khalifa is one of the top-ranked entertainers in the world, despite having worked in the porn industry for only> three months in late 2014. In December of that year, she was ranked >No. 1 on Pornhub.

Visits to Pornhub totaled a whopping 33.5 billion during 2018, marking an increase by 5 billion visits from 2017. Pornhub's daily visits now exceed 100 million, according to the report. 

The US continues to be the country with the highest daily traffic on Pornhub, with Kim Kardashian's sex tape still reigning as the most watched video of all time on the site.

The report noted that top searches are often influenced by mainstream media and pop culture events.

Additionally, live sporting events cause some of Pornhub's biggest temporary traffic fluctuations. For example, during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Pornhub traffic in Morocco and Egypt respectively >dropped by 40 percent and 33 percent whenever the respective team was playing.
