Railway accidents in Egypt have tragically taken a toll on people's lives several times in the past. More recently, a massive fire >erupted at Cairo's main railway station, setting the platform ablaze.
At the time of writing, at least 25 people have been reported dead and over 40 others injured.
Following the circulation of the news, many took to Twitter to mourn the lives that were lost. People also asked individuals close to hospitals near Ramses Station to go donate blood.

Egypt's railway system has been heavily criticized for its poor infrastructure, which has put people's lives at risk several times in the past.
In August 2017, two passenger trains collided right outside the Egyptian city of Alexandria. The incident left 43 people dead and over 100 others injured.
The deadliest rail incident in Egypt took place in 2002 when a fire broke out in a passenger train, killing more than 370 people.
