Habiba Organic Farm is located in Nuweiba in the southern Sinai. Focusing on organic farming, which is pretty rare to find in Egypt, Habiba Organic Farm attracts national and international visitors and volunteers. It has also become a destination for backpackers and world travelers.
Founded in 2007, HOF is a community-based farm aspiring to benefit the people of South Sinai while promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly income for local bedouins and residents. It's also the first in Egypt to be listed among WWOOF Independents in the world of sustainable volunteer tourism and is a member of The Center of Organic Agriculture in Egypt.
The Sinai Palm Foundation, already established and operated by HOF, intends to usher in new means of sustainable income for the local community. The directness and simplicity of this project allows the local population to invest in a share, a palm date tree, which will provide a fruit-producing tree that will enable a stream of income.
Another aspect of HOF that makes it stand out is its youth learning center, which offers an after-school educational program for local children. It covers subjects such as Arabic, English and mathematics but also focuses on music, art, and social and environmental responsibility. Local children are also invited to the farm to learn the importance of healthy food.
