Nicholas Reeves, currently the UIR Residential Scholar for 2014-15 attached to the School of Anthropology at the University of Arizona and Senior Egyptologist at the University of Arizona Egyptian Expedition, claims to have located Nefertiti's tomb.

The long lost tomb of Nefertiti has long remained a puzzle for Egyptologists. The tomb, which is now believed to be situated in King Tut's tomb, was discovered by mere chance when high resolution scans were done on the walls of the king's burial chambers.

Nefertiti, who is known for her exceptional beauty and who died in 1340 BC due to unknown circumstances, was never found and all attempts to locate her final resting place came to no avail. Though it is not certain who King Tut's mother was, a topic that many archaeologists and Egyptologists don't agree upon, it is commonly believed that the Pharaoh Akhenaten fathered King Tut with Nefertiti, who also had 6 daughters.

Given King Tut's significance in Egyptian history, his small burial chamber has raised questions among leading experts in the field. However, the ground-breaking report, which claims that Nefertiti's burial chamber is located behind King Tut's and can only be entered through a secret doorway, would put the speculation to rest if proven to be true.

The secret doorway in King Tut's tomb, which is decorated with religious artwork to protect hidden chambers, is believed to be the Queen's burial place.

"Only one female royal of the late 18th Dynasty is known to have received such honors, and that is Nefertiti," Reeves wrote in his report. "If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but if I'm right this is potentially the biggest archaeological discovery ever made."

The Ancient Egyptian civilization always captivated the world and therefore, when the latest theory, a theory that would answer many unanswered questions, became public, many around the globe responded with great anticipation. People are calling for more action to verify this groundbreaking report.

With the worldwide attention that is currently revolving around Nefertiti and her burial chambers and with this latest report that is made of fact based scientific evidence, Reeves may be allowed to have access to look deeper into King Tut's chambers to locate the secret doorways that may lead to the queen's tomb.
