Coffee connoisseurs in the UAE will soon be able to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to drink the world's most expensive coffee at Seven Fortunes Coffee Roasters in Dubai.
Seven Fortunes are offering a "601 Experience" that will allow coffee lovers to taste the world-renowned Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda Cañas Verdes lot Montana Geisha Natural.
This naturally-processed Geisha was sold at the Best of Panama Specialty Coffee auction for a record-breaking price of AED 4,866 (Yes, you read correctly, USD 1,324!!!) per kg.
"The UAE market is hungry for coffee and I’m proud to be the one to bring this record-breaking experience to Dubai," Karim Hassan, founder of Seven Fortunes Coffee Roasters, told StepFeed.
Only 45.5 kilograms of the history-making coffee exists in the world...
The coffee is grown in the rich soil of the Volcán Barú.
Only 628.22 kg of red ripe coffee cherries were harvested in the Montana lot, located in the Cañas Verdes Farm, on February 20, 2017.
These hand-picked cherries were dried on a concrete patio for 8 days until they reached the ideal humidity level of 10.5%.
After careful processing, only 68.04 kg of the green coffee remained, just enough to be eligible for the Best of Panama Competition.
There, it became the highest scoring coffee in history, scoring an impressive 94.115 points.
45.5 kg went up for auction on July 20, 2017, and were sold for a new world record price of 4,866 AED/kg.
"Who knows what the future will bring, but today this coffee is the highest scoring and best-tasting coffee among the Global Specialty Coffee Grading System. This is not an opinionated taste, but a proven fact," added Hassan.

For those interested in attending the event this Saturday, September 30, 2017, tickets will cost between AED 250 and AED 550.
For AED 250, the guests will receive 15 grams of roasted Esmeralda Geisha Cañas Verdes and entry into the "601 Experience".
For AED 550, the guests will receive 15 grams of roasted coffee to be brewed at Seven Fortunes, plus 50 grams of Esmeralda Geisha Cañas Verdes in beans.
