A video revealing a Hyperloop transportation system that would shuttle passengers between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 15 minutes was released this week.

>Hyperloop technology is the brainchild of billionaire business magnate and investor Elon Musk of Tesla and Space X.

>Essentially, the Hyperloop train will shoot capsules at high speeds through a nearly complete vacuum inside a large-scale tube. When implemented, the technology could drastically decrease required transport time, allowing cities to become more like metro stops than distant destinations.

>>Currently, several different companies are vying to develop the technology in different parts of the world. The technology is open-sourced–Musk published it in a 57-page alpha white paper on in 2014.

>In August, >it was revealed that the UAE could very possibly be the first place in the world where the Hyperloop is built on a large scale and put to commercial use.

>“We are in a new time now where you can develop a new transportation system in very few years and change the world,” Jacob Lange, director of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) Ideas, a Danish firm working on implementing Hyperloop One in the United Arab Emirates, said> in the video.

>“We’re not waiting for new technology like carbon nanofiber or anything in order to do this. We have everything we need to do it and it’s a matter of doing it in the best possible way.”
