Rumors are flying in Dubai about the expected Apple Store - the first in the Gulf - with several publications saying that the store will definitely open in August.
The opening of the store was first foreshadowed last year, when Apple Inc. posted openings for several retail jobs based in the United Arab Emirates, though the postings did not specify which city. The job postings came just six months after Apple CEO Tom Cook visited the emirate and meet with numerous officials.
The Dubai store is expected to be the largest yet for Apple, at more than double the size of the flagship New York outlet, according to Khaleej Times. It is expected to open in The Mall of the Emirates, with a second location in Abu Dhabi to follow.
The Dubai store will be the first in the Gulf and the second in the Middle East. The company opened its first Middle Eastern retail location last year in Istanbul.
If Twitter is any indication, people are just as excited as us about the new store.
