On Sunday, Saudi authorities in Al Kharj city arrested a domestic worker who blackmailed her previous employer, Akhbaar 24 reported.
The Ethiopian worker had recently left work at the Saudi woman's home after spending a few months with the family.
Shortly after leaving, the defendant sent her ex-employer footage capturing her and her daughters in their home. She then threatened to post the videos online unless she is paid 5,000 riyals ($1,333.)
However, the Saudi woman didn't cave in to the demand and immediately reported the matter to authorities.
The woman helped authorities make the arrest
After the report was filed, police officers asked the woman to dupe the domestic worker into believing she'll give her money.
She arranged a meeting with the defendant and informed authorities of its time and date.
Police were then able to track the now-detained woman and arrested her, along with a few people who appeared to be her accomplices. The case has now been referred to concerned authorities.
The case made the rounds on Saudi Twitter
Some were left speechless by the news
"There's no strength or power but in God."
"I can't believe this"
Many praised authorities for helping the blackmailed woman
"Good on them."
"She only asked for 5,000 riyals?"
Some speculated the domestic worker's motives
"5,000? Maybe she wanted her salaries to be paid."
