We all know (if not, then you will find out in the next couple of seconds) that Rami Malek has a lookalike who happens to share some part of his DNA. In more practical terms, he has a> twin brother — so that doesn't really count as a doppelgänger, right? But what if we told you there's another Egyptian person who looks just like him yet doesn't share his DNA or his chromosome makeup, would that count?
Over the weekend, FIBA shared a video of Soraya Mohamed Degheidy as she dribbled her way to dominating a basketball court. During the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2019 in Kampala, Uganda this month, the 24-year-old was named MVP after finishing as the top scorer with 48 points.
The Egyptian queen, as FIBA describes her, led a team "without a substitute (just 3 players) to their first-ever gold medal in the 3x3 women's category," FIBA said in the aftermath of the tournament.
The basketball player not only put on an all-star performance but also helped her team achieve their first-ever continental trophy in this category. So it's only expected to see endless support pour in on social media following the release of the epic video by FIBA on Twitter.
Her three-pointer shot during the last few seconds of the match did not go unnoticed. It was a buzz(er)-worthy moment to say the least.
"My favorite three-point shooting form ever"
But it wasn't just her hooping skills that got people talking. The basketball player's uncanny resemblance to Egyptian-American actor Rami Malek caught people off guard. The two seem to have similar jawlines, eyes, and eyebrows ... so much so that once you see it, it just sticks.
"You're onto something," FIBA wrote in response to one Twitter user's reaction.
Welcome to the world ... Miss Robot?
Well, if she looks like Rami Malek, might as well take the role of Miss Robot, right?
For those who don't know, Malek shot to fame after taking on the lead role in the drama series Mr. Robot. In 2016, the show was nominated for a whopping six Emmys ... and Malek's character Elliot Alderson became quite a sensation among fans of the show.
