It's been five whole years since Coldplay performed in Abu Dhabi. They'll be back soon, and this time with a New Year's Eve gig.
The band will take to the stage at du Arena on Yas Island as part of their "A Head Full of Dreams" tour.
Coldplay tweeted the news during the weekend.
"The band will see in the new year with a show in Abu Dhabi on December 31," the band tweeted.
This wouldn't be the first time the band plays in the UAE capital. They first performed in 2009 under pouring rain (a very rare event on the desert island), on a night that many concert-goers said was the most "extraordinary night Abu Dhabi has seen." They played again on New Year's Eve in 2011.
Nevertheless, people are going crazy.
Every teardrop is a waterfall
"I need to go. No, I have to go"
Even if it means going alone
Abu Dhabi is going to be cooler than Dubai
Desperate times call for desperate measures
Expect A LOT of screaming
Envious souls around the globe
Because people in Abu Dhabi are #Blessed
Hard decisions now have to be made
Tickets will go live on November 30. Anyone with a Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket will get a 20 percent discount, too. A pre-sale that starts at noon today and ends on Wednesday is available to Du customers.
