American rapper Cardi B's Grammy-nominated song "Bodak Yellow" took the world by storm soon after its release in June 2017, topping the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks.

But, there was one detail that was unknown to her fans ... until now.

Cardi B shot parts of the music video in Dubai's deserts and was attacked by a cheetah during the shoot.

In a recent interview with Genius, the song's video director, Picture Perfect, revealed the rapper had one nerve-wracking encounter with a cheetah.

"We actually got this cheetah from a sultan out there. I didn’t know how hard it was gonna be to get a cheetah out there. We shot this scene [which] we didn’t use, and he attacked Cardi in that scene," Picture Perfect said.

In the raw footage shared on YouTube, the female rapper can be seen standing relatively close to the cheetah while holding him on a leash. It was going quite well ... up until the animal turned his head and began hissing at her.

"Okay. No, no, no! Come hold him," Cardi B can be heard screaming.

The cheetah in the finalized version of the music video is not the same cheetah that scared Cardi B off. The crew cast a much friendlier cheetah the second time around.

"We got her spirits back up and then we shot this scene ... this cheetah right here is not the other cheetah from the other scene," Picture Perfect explained.
