On Thursday, the British House of Commons took a vote deciding whether or not to begin military action in Syria. After 10 hours of debate, the vote was in favor of military action. Hours later, airstrikes were launched.
This left a huge number of people from the Arab world feeling upset, but even more people from the UK voiced their contempt over the vote.
Many people began using the hashtag "#Notinmyname".
A lot of the tweets also tackled the issue of funding the military action, highlighting issues which they thought deserved the money more.
A petition was also started online against the airstrikes and has already reached more than 180,000 signatures.
According to the parliament's petition website, where the petition was launched, "At 10,000 signatures you get a response from the government," and "At 100,000 signatures your petition will be considered for a debate in Parliament."
