Beyoncé has expressed her long-standing admiration for >ancient Egyptians in numerous ways ... and donning a Cleopatra outfit at the 2017 Grammys is just one example.

Cleopatra and Queen Nefertiti have been inspiring the singer for >over a decade, and it seems Queen Bey (spin-off of Queen Nefertiti?) has decided to take that inspiration to another level.

The American singer recently released a collection of shirts, hoodies, and crop-tops via her official Beyoncé store ... and to say it's Nefertiti-inspired is an understatement.

However, not everyone was happy. People are accusing the singer of cultural appropriation, criticizing her for using "cultural symbolism" as an aesthetic.

"Beyoncé looking like a queen for Nefertiti"

People weren't too happy with Queen Bey, accusing her of cultural appropriation

"Queen of what? Appropriation?"

"As an Egyptian, I feel insulted"

"We love a culture appropriating queen!"

"I adore you, but cultural appropriation is not OK"

"Stealing cultural symbolism for an aesthetic"

"Egypt being treated like an accessory"

"Our history ... was never appreciated, only accessorized"

Some apologized to Nefertiti on behalf of Beyoncé

"Nefertiti is shook"

Not everyone was offended...

Not the first time the singer was heavily inspired by Nefertiti ...

In 2016, the singer released the official music video for her song "Sorry," featuring a Nefertiti-esque hairstyle.
