Hosted by Open Source Action Network ( OSAN ), the three-day hackathon will allow local NGOs, tech enthusiasts, students and community stakeholders to engage in discussions and build viable solutions to address the refugee crisis in Lebanon.

The hackathon is working alongside the UNHCR, UNICEF, OCHA and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Teams will be formed at the end of the first day. Throughout the weekend, each team is required to build a functional prototype to be demoed to a panel of judges on day three. Winning teams will receive cash prizes followed by support to turn the prototypes into a functional product.

Currently, one in five people in Lebanon is a Syrian refugee. However, refugee support has been at a minimum and the tech community is looking to change that.
