American hip-hop artist, songwriter, and record producer Russell Vitale, better known as Russ, has taken the Muslim Twitterverse by a storm with a one-word tweet.
Last week, Russ took to Twitter to >write "Inshallah," an Arabic expression that translates to "If God wills."
Known for his singles "What They Want" and "Losin Control," Russ won over his Muslim fans with the tweet.
Muslim tweeps were quick to express their excitement about his tweet, ask about the point behind it, and of course, crack jokes:
People are letting Russ know the REAL meaning behind the word
Thought it meant "God willing"? Think again
It means "no" in the Arab/Muslim parent dictionary
Muslims are beyond excited
From Russ to Rachid real quick
Muslim girls are fangirling over him
Marriage proposals are in full force
Khaleeji GIFs made an appearance too
Does this mean he's getting a Saudi girlfriend?
But of course, Drake did it first
Canadian rapper Drake recently >caused a similar social media frenzy among Muslim Twitter users after using "Inshallah" in his song "Diplomatic Immunity."
The lyrics of the song go as follows:
"The TV playin' Al Jazeera
Inshallah, I hope the mission keeps on gettin' clearer
Whenever, wherever, OVO will always be together like Shakira..."
Muslim women went into a complete meltdown over the lyrics, fangirling over the rapper and even proposing to him.
