Earlier this month, the highly anticipated annual Victoria's Secret Fantasy Bra was revealed, along with the lucky model to wear it, and the master jeweler behind it.
Mouawad, the famous Lebanese jewelery firm, is once again the designer of the exclusively handcrafted bra to be worn by Brazilian angel Lais Ribeiro, in the VS Fashion Show on November 28 this year.
The 2017 Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra is valued at an outstanding $2 million and reportedly took around 350 hours to create. Weighing over 600 karats, it is embellished with almost 6,000 precious gemstones, diamonds, yellow sapphires, blue topaz set in 18-karat gold.
The 2017 Fantasy Bra is based on and inspired by VS’s brand-new “Dream Angels Demi Bra.”
Mouawad took to Instagram to announce the news, posting a picture of Ribeiro wearing the bra. In turn, Ribeiro herself posted the same picture, professing she’s been “holding this secret for too long.”
“Personally, I love the colors on my skin tone and the big stones!” Ribeiro told Vogue.
VS released a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the Fantasy Bra shoot.
“I think wearing the fantasy bra means you’re going to put your name on the map,” Ribeiro is heard saying in the video.
“It changes your career completely and it means that my hard work is paying off,” she added.
Ribeiro, who has been with VS since 2010, previously opened the Birds of Paradise show in 2013.
She earned her angel wings in 2015 after appearing six times in the annual show. She will next be seen wearing the Champagne Nights Bra this month in Hong Kong.
The jewelry firm, founded in 1891 in Beirut, Lebanon, has maintained a strong partnership with VS since 2001, designing the Fantasy Bra ten times since then.
Mouawad has amassed a number of Guinness World Records for their designs, including the most expensive bra for the 2001 Heavenly Star Bra worn by supermodel Heidi Klum.
