It's one of the most visited cities on earth (actually the fourth most), and love it or hate, you can't but snap photos of its magical feats in architecture and its uniquely designed experiences.
Here are some of the most cliché photos people take in Dubai.
1. The "kissing the dolphin" photo in Atlantis
Located in Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis is a must-visit resort. Spending your entire vacation there is going to have a toll on your bank account, that's for sure! But a day with the dolphins is budget friendly. Of course, snapping photos with the marine mammals, getting all up-close-and-personal, is a must.
2. The "turn your back to the camera and act spontaneous" photo inside the Dubai Aquarium
It's not the easiest mall to navigate, but Dubai Mall is another necessary stop for tourists. Seeing an aquarium inside the world's largest mall is fascinating. There's no doubt photos of the 48-meter-walkway will invade your social media feeds, especially from friends that care to look spontaneous.
3. "Gazing into the distance" atop Burj Khalifa
The view from the top is incredible, and yes a photo must be taken. But you have to admit it's become a bit of a tired cliche especially when the obvious selfie stick betrays the fact that 'gazing into the distance' is totally staged, guys!
4. The one of Burj Khalifa
The view from atop is incredible, but so is the burj itself. Really, who could visit Dubai and not snap a photo of the world's tallest tower? Even if they know there are thousands of probably that exact same frame.
5. The "Burj Al Arab just happens to be chilling right behind you"
It just so happens that you're on Jumeirah beach when your friend decides to take a photo of you with the Burj Al Arab right behind you. Subhan'allah the structure and you both look perfect.
Yeah, if only that's how it actually happened. This is what really happens. You stand there, look away, and have your friend take a hundred photos before you find just the right one to post on social media.
6. The bright colors at Miracle Garden
It's not just the flowers that get some face-time with the camera ... so do these colorful umbrellas.
7. The "jump" that took you 10 tries to perfect in the desert
Unless you're a global jumper, I'm pretty sure your first jumping photo in the desert wasn't the photo you chose to post on social media. It's OK to admit that it took you a minimum of ten tries to make the jump look that easy.
8. The "cold drink in my hand while on the beach" photo
No comment.
