Put aside Islamophobia for a minute and let's focus on how the United States of America has witnessed a surprising rise in the number of mosques in one decade.

From 1,209 in 2000 to around 2,106 in 2010 - which is around a 74 percent increase - the state of California appears to be the #1 host, with around 198 mosques, according to World Atlas

According to Pew Research Center, there are about 3.35 million Muslims of all ages living in the U.S. in 2017 - that's almost 1% of the entire population.

As the number of the Muslim American population continues to rise, it is only expected for mosques to mushroom in every state as well.

Let's take a look at some of America's most gorgeous masjids.
