Arab mothers impose every winter cliche there is out there on their children. We will never admit you were right about wearing more layers, but here, nonetheless, are the 6 things every Arab mom raised her child upon in winter:
1. Wear a jacket
It doesn't matter if it is sunny, cold, or the weather is tropical outside - you will be hearing this from October to April.
2. No ice cream (aka don't drink cold water)
This myth has been busted years ago - PLEASE get with it, Mama.
3. Don't wear white
What? Why? White fur exists! So do white sweaters!
4. Don't sit out in the cold
"Btekol saf2it hawa" - this one actually works; we'll give it to you, mothers.
5. Don't sit in front of the heater
OK, now we're confused. You just told us to not sit in the cold. Which thermal regulation system are you suggesting?
6. Don't go out
"But why Mom?"
"Because it's raining"
