Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
It's April 1st ... and we all know what that means: April Fools' Day. It's that time of year when fooling others becomes one big competition.
It's also that time of the year, we all try NOT to be fooled.
Arabs have quite a creative side when it comes to pranking ... here's a glimpse:
1. That time when an Arab girl told her mother she got a tattoo ... and got sent back to Morocco
Earlier this year, a 21-year-old Moroccan-American girl decided to prank her mother with a series of texts, and what better way to do that than by telling her she got a tattoo while drunk?
A devout Muslim, her mother does not respond well, and to show us just how much she freaked out, twitter user >Neyda documents her mother's reaction on the social media platform.
The tweet ultimately went viral, garnering over 10,000 retweets. Neyda was 'sent' back to Morocco ... but, it wasn't clear whether she had already had a flight booked prior to the prank or whether the sequence of events happened exactly the way she described.
2. Scream + Oud = Scary Movie 6
Need we say more?
3. Pregnancy prank gone wrong ... the mother's gasp at *minute 1:25* says it all
Palestinian-American YouTuber Yousef Erakat, aka FouseyTube, decided to pull a prank on his mother by having his girlfriend call her to tell her she's pregnant.
The video garnered over 7 million views. The mom's reaction is priceless.
*Minute 2:08* The typical mother *gasp* (shah2a) comes to life.
*Minute 2:58* Mother still in shock, begins saying astagfarillah on repeat.
*Minute 3:20* "How could you do this to us" ... because it's not official till a guilt trip comes to life.
4. Praying gone backwards
5. When this Lebanese girl told her mom she needs her to pack the 'weed' and give it to a client coming to their house
Sarah, a Lebanese woman, took part in a U.S. live radio show in 2014, whereby she pranked her mother over the phone. The prank ultimately went viral. Why? Here's a recap.
During the show, Sarah called her mother and told her five lies, which all revolved around one thing: selling weed.
Sarah told her mother that she's been selling stuff (hashish) for extra money and that she desperately needed her mother to package the weed for a client who was going to pass by.
"Sarah, wallah I'll kill you," her mother says.
6. Is her son a drug dealer?
This guy begins to tell his mother about a group of friends that he's been spending a lot of his time with ... selling drugs.
Her reaction is less "reacting" and more "telling him what to do". Watch the video for a good dose of laughter!
Happy April Fools' Day everyone! And don't forget to have a few laughs!
