With Eid fast approaching, a long weekend is upon us and you might be thinking of making a few plans.
Whether you want to spend the holiday with friends, family, or perhaps both, here's a guide that'll help you decide - if you happen to be spending the holidays in Lebanon.
1. A trip to Baalbeck
Baalbek is home to a few of Lebanon's most popular ancient ruins, including the Baalbek temple and the citadel.
You'll have the most incredible time sightseeing and discovering the glorious sites.
While you're there: Make a road trip out of your visit, explore the area and don't leave without trying a sfee7a b3albakiyye (you'll thank us later!)
2. Family lunch at Tawlet Biomass
This is an outing that'll make you feel right at home.
Tawlet Biomass' authentic Lebanese dishes and beautiful setting in Jrebta, Batroun, align to make a perfect Eid family gathering.
While you're there: After lunch, take a stroll through Batroun. There's nothing quite like the things you'll discover on foot. Also, make sure not to leave before you try the famous Batrouni lemonade and jelleb.
3. A trip to Deir al-Oumara
Located in Lebanon's Chouf district, Deir el Qamar is one of the most beautiful road trip destinations in the country and is home to the magnificent Deir al-Oumara.
The historic hotel and restaurant is housed in a 19th-century palace, built in 1827 for Emir Bashir II’s advisor Boutros Karame.
While you're there: Make sure you visit Deir el Qamar's public square, the old markets, and museums.
4. A hike in the Cedars
One of the country's most beautiful locations, El Arz is a perfect Eid getaway for those who want to take a break and recharge.
While you're there: Try paragliding; El Arz is one of the best spots in the region for this sort of activity.
5. A ride in Harissa's Telepheriques
Because nothing's like a cable car ride over the mountains.
While you're there: Jounieh isn't too far away from Harrissa, so don't miss the chance to visit some of the restaurants in the old souk!
Speaking of souks ...
6. Jbeil's old souks are a must!
Touring around the iconic historical city and its souks is all you'll need.
While you're there: Channel the tourist in you and get on one of the famous Byblos boat rides.
7. A trip to Brumanna
Nothing's like exploring the glorious pine laden village on foot.
While you're there: Make sure you visit one of the most well-known Lebanese restaurants in the area: Mounir.
8. A relaxing family day at the beach
From Beirut to Tyre and Anfeh, the perfect long weekend getaway is never complete without a day spent at the beach with friends or family.
While you're there: Take the time to just chill; you deserve it!
9. A visit to Souk El Akel's Wata el Joz summer event
Right in time for Eid weekend, this family friendly event is packed with summer activities.
While you're there: Spend the night gazing at the stars, enjoying the beautiful nature of Wata el Joz as part of the event's camp.
