Ajman is looking to boost its tourism, targeting Europeans.
While the emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been enormously successful in building their tourism sector during the past decade or so, other emirates such as Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and now Ajman are looking to follow a similar example.
As part of its strategy to increase awareness about the opportunities available to tourists, the Ajman Tourism Development Department has set off on a European tour. With hopes of boosting tourism as early as the second half of 2016, the ATDD will be visiting Prague in the Czech Republic, Warsaw in Poland and Budapest in Hungary.
"Europe is a vital market for Ajman. Every year we are seeing an increase in the number of European visitors to Ajman," General Manager of ATDD Faisal Al Nuaimi said, according to Arabian Business .
He went on to say that more than 45,000 Europeans visited the emirate in 2015 and explained that they tended to stay longer than tourists from other countries.
"This means there is something in Ajman that attracts them to come and stay. Therefore, our aim for this roadshow is to speak directly to our target market through existing clients and seek new partners to boost the numbers of European visitors to the emirate for the second half of the year."
