Earlier this week, Kuwaiti authorities arrested a man who grew entire batches of marijuana right in his backyard, Al Rai newspaper reported.
This came after an unidentified person reported the defendant to authorities.
"Police officers placed him under surveillance for two weeks and soon realized that he was growing marijuana, an illegal drug in Kuwait, in his backyard," Al Rai wrote.
The 50-year-old man was arrested by authorities and has now been referred to prosecution.

After the arrest, police raided the defendant's home and were surprised to find huge amounts of the drug there.
According to Al Rai, "there were over 1000 plants ready for sale, other than pills and other drug substances."
