Lebanese couturier Elie Saab's son got married during a lavish three-day wedding that's being dubbed as Lebanon's version of a royal wedding.
Elie Saab Jr. tied the knot with Christina Mourad in front of over 1,000 guests on Friday. The couple met through the groom's brother, Celio, and had been engaged for over a year. They officially wed in a religious ceremony in the church of Bkerki, headed by Lebanon's top Maronite bishop, Cardinal Beshara Al Rai. This was followed by a grandiose reception held at the country's exclusive Faqra club.
Naturally, the bride walked down the aisle in a stunning custom-made gown created by none other than the top-notch designer Elie Saab. The beautifully embellished dress took over 450 hours to make.
The newlywed wore four other designs created by her new father-in-law, including one for her pre-wedding bash, held at Le Plateau de Bakish, and another for the reception party.
The groom's mother, Claudine Saab, and tens of other guests arrived at the celebrations donning outfits designed by the fashion mogul. Celebrities from around the world were in attendance, including Nadine Labaki and Dita Von Teese. Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri was also one of the attendees.
Lebanon's top singers Elissa, Nancy Ajram, and Assi El Helani serenaded the couple throughout the celebrations, while Lebanese musician Michel Fadel performed during the reception.
Images and videos capturing the celebrations, extravagant gown, and everything else that went down at Lebanon's wedding of the year went viral online.
