Arabs are really in a league of our own when it comes to humor, especially when we're surrounded by foreigners.
We've made a habit out of shamelessly trolling non-Arabs, sometimes just for the sake of having a good laugh and other times in hopes of making some powerful political statements.
Here are 7 times Arabs hilariously trolled non-Arabs:
1. When this student called his professor 'bint kalb' ... and she was totally clueless
Jordanian university student Sattam Alsarhan cracked us up with a video of him with a foreign professor, in which he says, "This is my best teacher ... bint el kalb ma khallatni itkharraj kabel sana (the daughter of a dog stopped me from graduating last year)."
2. When this student identified himself as 'Abu Sharmouta' ... on national television
Sayyed Jamal Hamideh earned legend-status in 2013 when he pulled an epic prank on ABC Television. As a journalism student at the University of Houston at the time, Hamideh decided to poke fun at the reporter trying to cover an armed robbery at one of the campus' residence halls.
Hamideh pretended to be one of the witnesses to the robbery ... but the prank didn't stop there.
He went on to tell the reporter that his name was "Abu Sharmouta", a derogatory term in Arabic that translates to "father of a prostitute".
The reporter actually said the pretend name of the student several times on TV, and the name also appeared as a screen caption.
3. When American Starbucks barista got a taste of Lebanese trolling
It's safe to say this woman and Sayyed Jamal Hamideh would make the best of friends!
4. When this girl translated 'I love you' with a twist
5. When this guy free-styled Al-Fatiha
Who knew the Qur'an can impress foreigners?
6. When this billboard perfectly shut down Donald Trump's xenophobic rhetoric
Last year, a billboard on a highway near Dearborn, Michigan took a hilarious punch at U.S. President Donald Trump's xenophobic rhetoric.
Written nearly entirely in Arabic, the billboard reads: "Donald Trump, he can’t read this, but he is scared of it anyway." It then directs readers to trumpisscared.org, a single-page website that takes a satirical stab at Trump's Islamophobic statements.
7. When this bag was every Arabophobe's worst nightmare
A tote bag with Arabic text was spotted with a German commuter last year and it took the internet by storm, as it poked fun at the perceived fear of the Arabic language in the West.
The tongue-in-cheek message reads, "This text has no other purpose than to terrify those who are afraid of the Arabic language."
After the picture went viral, it turned out that the bag was designed by Rock Paper Scissors, a Palestine-based graphic design and print studio.
