1. Sahlab (Salep)
With origins dating back to the Ottoman Empire, the rich creamy drink is the Middle Eastern version of hot chocolate and a staple beverage for the region.
It is traditionally made with milk and a powder made of tubers of the rare Orchis Macula plant. However, a variation made with milk, cornstarch and rosewater is also common when the orchid powder is not available. It is usually garnished with cinnamon, almonds or pistachios.
2. Karawiya (Caraway drink)
Also referred to as "meghli", the popular Middle Eastern desert is made in both beverage and pudding form with the addition of rice.

4. Qishr (Spiced Ginger Coffee)
The traditional drink is a staple of Yemeni culture, it is full of antioxidants and made with spiced coffee husks, ginger and sometimes cinnamon is added as well. A creamy variation is also made with the addition of milk.
5. Karkadeh (Hibiscus tea)
Particularly popular in North African countries, the hot herbal tea is made from the dried calyxes of the hibiscus flower and has a distinctive cranberrylike flavor, as well as many health benefits.
6. Kerfa bel haleeb (Cinnamon milk)
Perfect for those who love cinnamon and its fragrance, the hot creamy drink is made with ground cinnamon and milk, the beverage can also be garnished with cinnamon sticks.
