Ah, Egyptians and our light sense of humor... We always make sure to crack a joke at the most inappropriate of times. 

This year, odd, unimaginable things happened in Egypt and people were quick to flood their sarcasm online.

Here's a list of seven hilarious moments that took Egyptian social media by storm in 2017: 

1. Falafel got upgraded to 'green burger'

Whoever dared to ignorantly name falafel "green burgers" surely knew what they were doing... they wanted to divide us Egyptians.

But it didn't work. We came together instead, to hilariously put this trend to eternal sleep. 

2. Ahmed Magdy's Instagram was trolled by his Egyptian fans

Egyptian actor Ahmed Magdy trended in 2017 for all the wrong reasons. 

His talent and good looks came second to the amount of trolling his fans made him go through...

After Magdy uploaded some artistic selfies on the Gram, skilled photoshop wizards took over the internet with some funny creations that cracked up all Egyptians. 

3. Amr Diab contributed to the Egyptian dictionary

Amr Diab and Dina El-Sherbini have been consistently denying rumors concerning their ambiguous relationship.

Diab's latest desperate attempt to dismiss the rumors was by tweeting a photo with El-Sherbini and other celebrities, captioning it: "With the crew of my new film in 2018." 

It's needless to say how thrilled Egyptians were for the "couple"... and of course the amount of hilarious trolling Diab got.  

"Faree2 El 3amal" (work crew) is now synonymous to "significant other," with people taking to captioning their selfies with their spouses under "With Faree2 El 3amal!" 

4. Two brothers said goodbye to their sister on her wedding day with a funny song

Brothers Ahmed and Mohammed El-Bessa were quick to gain fame after performing at their sister's wedding. 

With a song showing the brothers' joy while bidding their sister farewell, social media was set on fire with over 6 million views at the time of writing. 

5. Henedy jokingly challenged Triple H to meet him at WWE Abu Dhabi

And Triple H accepted the challenge... but Henedy was quick to save himself by pointing out the joke with this hilarious photo. 

6. Archaeologists unearthed an ancient Egyptian gymnasium

Apparently, Egyptians were hitting the gym 2,300 years ago. 

A German-Egyptian archaeological mission has unearthed the remains of the first Hellenistic gymnasium ever found in Egypt, dating back to the third century B.C.

7. This analysis of Dua Lipa's New Rules

Mohammed Tarek's video analyzing Dua Lipa's song "New Rules" has garnered over 145,000 views at the time of writing, making the internet even funnier.
