Dubai has a tendency to go to the extreme in everything. So naturally, it became one of the best places for extreme sports in the Middle East, whether they’re on sea, land, sky or sand.
1. Skiing and snowboarding
While most people think that this is the last possible thing in Dubai, it was actually one of the first extreme sports to steal the scene in Dubai. Since the opening of the Mall of Emirates in 2005, Ski Dubai has become an indoor ski haven ... avalanche free!
2. Bungee jumping
And no, it’s not from Burj Khalifa unfortunately because you don’t want to slam your body against the windows of the tower, or have tenants watch your horrified face as you fall down. But in Gravity Zone, you can have the adrenaline rush you crave by jumping from a platform hanging by a rope. You say "Jump!" I say "How low will this thing go?"
3. Shark diving
There are many spots where you can leave your worries on the shore and dive into the blue in Dubai, but we have to admit that the strangest spot to do that is the Dubai Mall Shark Dive ... Because who wouldn’t want to brag about swimming with sharks?
4. Flyboarding/hoverboarding
This is one of the newly invented extreme sports allowing you to fly over the sea thanks to a pair of boots with jet nozzles in them. Simple, yet extreme!
5. Skydiving
Dubai has all these amazing islands and constructions that you can view from the sky and while Google maps is nice to give us an idea of how they look, why not see it for yourself?
6. Sandboarding
I mean, you’ve got all that sand sitting right there and there has to be something to be done with it other than watching camels passing by! Usually it’s done with a board, but some like to just slide with their bodies down the sandy slopes … Let’s just hope they won’t be swallowed by quick sand!
7. Dune bashing
You might think you don’t know this one, but if you’ve ever been on a safari trip in Dubai, then you probably already did this. Yes, it is that ride that made your life flash before your eyes! If you haven’t done it yet, what are you waiting for?
