Living in Riyadh is difficult on women. Now I'm not talking about all the things we all know too well about, like not being able to drive. A woman's life is always a little tougher than a man's, wherever you are in the world. But there's no denying it's on a whole different league in the Saudi capital.
1. Feeling bad for a driver you've hired when you go to a mall and stay there for several hours
Even if you do ask him to go to other places and come back and pick you up in a 2 hours
2. Spending massive amount of time on accenuating your eye make up so that even when you do wear a burka, your eyes look flawless
3. Trying to cover your face even more when one of these guys show up
See this face? Run to the nearest lady's room!
4. Spending so much money on heels that look good with your expensive abaya
You have to give women props for being able to walk in those heels.
5. Trying to not look out the window in Tahlia street
Boys everywhere! And very good looking ones too!
6. Trying to decide whether your husband should sit in the Khaima (tent) or you and your girlfriends should
This is a real problem because when girlfriends come over. It usually means staying over till the sun comes up.
