Living in Dubai? You must have tried Uber and Dubai taxi at least once and noticed a few differences here and there.
1. Short on cash in the middle of nowhere? Uber yourself anywhere!
If you don't carry enough cash for the taxi to drive you home, that's when Uber becomes handy. With a simple pin on the map, Uber will take you wherever you'd like and charge your debit or credit card. So if you're late for a meeting and can't find a nearby ATM, Uber is the solution.
2. Cleanliness
Generally public transportation in Dubai is well maintained, but let's admit it, the Uber car is owned by the driver, they are more advanced and more maintained. It's the driver's baby, so no wonder he/she would take extra care of it than if it were the company's car. No loud songs, no weird smells and definitely no sticky crumbs in the back seats.
3. Professional drivers
You rarely come across an Uber driver who is not aware of Dubai roads, a little too chatty, or God forbid, smells bad. Most importantly, their way of handling the wheel will not make you feel sick and about to puke, especially at those twisty Sheikh Zayed road roundabouts. Uber drivers usually stick to shortest road to get you to your destination and they provide a top-notch driving experience.
4. Customer Service
However, if you do run into a bad experience, you can simply send a complaint through the Uber app, and you will be refunded within 48 hours. That's the perk of having your road history on the mobile app map, everything can be tracked easily and the driver's rating matters at that point.
5. Promo Codes
Promo Codes are seasonal offers that be as awesome as not being charged for the whole trip! We don't experience that with Dubai taxi, do we?
However, Uber can be slightly more expensive than Dubai taxi, especially for the longer trips, yet everything comes with a price!
