Going to the mountains is one of those things that you either do with excitement, or dread. If you're someone who gets antsy staying put for too long then chances are, the mountains aren't for you. There's something unsettling about being surrounded by nature and all that deafening silence. No car to honk at you, no yelling across balconies... my heart beats to the drum of Beirut traffic. Who knew "peace" could be so relative?

Here's why I find the mountains so creepy:

1. It feels like the calm before the storm

Say what you will, no place should be this quiet during the night.

2. No Internet connection... enough said

What's a 3G?

3. The only thing to keep you company... mosquitos

I have a theory that mosquitos don't really die, they reincarnate. There's no logical explanation as to why they constantly come back to the same place they bit you after you've supposedly killed them.

4. Family members will point out all of your flaws... cause there's nothing better to do up there

And here I thought you missed me after not seeing me for three months.

5. Sitting in one place for too long, you might as well take up meditation

You better start liking yourself because you're going to be spending a lot of time with your inner dork.
