If you are reading this from an office then you probably don’t belong to the ever-expanding pool of self-employed people who live in Dubai and occupy some of its coolest cafes for hours on end armed with their laptops and fuelled on caffeine!
If you are a business owner, a freelancer, or want to pretend to be one for a day and you are looking for a comfy, work-friendly venue where you can enjoy good food and strong wifi for hours (without worrying about getting kicked out because you only ordered a latte) then you need to memorize this list.
Here are 5 of the best work cafes in Dubai at the moment:
1. Nathalie’s – Sports City
If you are into fitness and healthy food, or want to squeeze a gym session in-between your working hours then Nathalie’s in Sports City is the place for you. The café shares a wall with FitRepublik, one of the biggest sports complexes in Dubai, which means you can do a workout, meet work deadlines and have a healthy meal all in one place. We love the home-like décor of this café and the extensive eggs menu for breakfast.
2. The Daily – Rove Downtown Hotel
This café sits inside one of the coolest new hotels in Dubai: Rove Downtown. It’s a great work place for people who usually have meetings and events in DIFC. What we like the most though is the naturally lit space, the spacious surroundings and of course the delicious salad bar! Last week, The Daily was shortlisted for the Commercial Interior Design awards MENA – ‘Interior Design of the Year: Hotels’ award.
3. Ayam Elezz –The Mall
If you are the “I love to do my work while listening to Feirouz, eating manakeesh and smoking shisha” type then this spot in Jumeirah’s The Mall is ideal. I mean, when was the last time you heard actual, real-life birds chirping while enjoying a breakfast with a view of Burj Al Arab? It’s one of our favorite work cafes in Dubai with its retro inspired décor, big windows, relaxing atmosphere and tasty Arabic menu.
4. Urban Bistro – Dubai Media City
We know parking in Media City can be a nightmare, but we really think this place is worth it! Urban Bistro offers all the things we look for in a work café: great wifi connection, a beautiful view, outdoors terrace and a selection of giant salads and healthy platters. We also love the buzzing atmosphere and seeing other people working on their laptops or having business meetings really gets the motivation working!
5. Mitts and Trays – City Walk Phase 2
It might be tiny on space but it’s big on charm! At Mitts and Trays, you will feel as if you stepped into a spotless, brightly lit and extremely comfortable living room, complete with snug sofas, wooden bookshelves and cool lightings. And because hard work requires calories, we have to replenish them by munching on the enticing desserts and cakes the café has on offer. It’s the perfect work café for those who suffer from a chronic sweet tooth and an obsession with beautiful home décor.
