Saudi Arabia, particularly Riyadh, is a great place for misconceptions especially from those who have never been there. At first, you laugh it off but then it gets irritating when you realize that no matter how much you explain it to people, they still repeat what they think they know.

Even other Arabs have a warped idea of what Saudi Arabia is really like, as I've discovered since moving to Lebanon.

1. Women are not allowed to work

I get why you would think that but seriously? Lots of places, including big companies, hire women.

2. Women ALWAYS have to cover their hair

That's not entirely true. You're only required to cover your hair when the Mutawa' comes to the mall or when you pass by a Mutawa\police car.

3. You have zero contact with guys

4. That we live in a desert
