Ever notice how some words are just more satisfying to say in Arabic? Here are my top 5 English words that are just wayyy more fun to say in Arabi.
1. Sesame – Simsim
Because who hasn’t said open ya sim sim while playing Aladdin?
2. Hibiscus – Karkadé
Pass the karkadé tea just sounds SO cool.
3. Kiss – Bosa
We even named a dessert after kisses (basbousa anyone?).
4. Waterfall – Shilaal
Shilaal just has a nice ring to it. Right, my fellow Libyans?
5. La – No
Saying NO just seems so much harsher in English.
