If you have ever been to an Arab wedding, then you probably know very well that Arabs are in a league of their own when it comes to being "extra".

But, our over-the-top and dramatic behavior isn't limited to our weddings. For many of us, being extra is more like a way of life...

Here's proof of that:

1. When this guy called the number on the back of a van to ask its driver to switch lanes

Arab pragmatism at its finest. A petition to start having a phone number on every vehicle is much-needed.

2. While this one went above and beyond to impress his date

Because parking the car is too mainstream, the driver oh-so-casually jumped out of the moving car to pick up a flower for his date. He then got back into the car, making it look so effortless.

3. When this guy took birthday invites to the next level

Jordanian national Ali Sarsour printed life-size posters of himself with his dog and distributed them around his neighborhood... just to advertise for his birthday party. The posters even featured a cafe and a restaurant as the party's sponsors.

4. When this guy smoked shisha while swimming

He created an extension made of over six hoses just to satisfy his shisha obsession.

5. When the dabke challenge took over the internet

In what can be considered as the epitome of extra, Arabs won over the internet in June 2016 with the "Dabke Challenge", which saw groups of people from all over the world performing the traditional Levantine folk dance - not just on the floor, but on walls as well.

6. When these Khaleejis created their very own extreme sport

Yup, so many questions come to mind, but the most pressing one is: WHY?

7. When this guy used a 'derbake' (goblet drum) at a protest in the U.S.

Even our protest methods are over the top!

8. When a Saudi prince bought plane tickets for his eighty falcons

A picture that went viral in 2017 captured a plane filled with falcons, which turned out to belong to a Saudi prince.

9. When this student identified himself as 'Abu Sharmouta' ... on national television

In 2013, Sayyed Jamal Hamideh pretended to have witnessed a robbery at the University of Houston and went on to tell the reporter that his name was "Abu Sharmouta", a derogatory term in Arabic that translates to "father of a prostitute."

The reporter actually said the pretend name of the student several times on TV, and the name also appeared as a screen caption.

10. When this woman decided to host a divorce party

Divorce parties are actually a thing in the Arab world... because why not?

11. Arab moms are on a whole new level of extra ...

They have the power to become artsy when you least expect it.

12. Especially when it comes to decorating their homes

It's all about the aesthetics!
