Funerals are far from being a laughing matter, and just like weddings, one always comes across interesting people at such big gatherings.

Some people don't seem to fit in situations like these, adding even more awkwardness to the unfortunate environment.

Here are 10 types of people you see at funerals in Egypt:

1. The distant cousin who isn't sure whether they're at the right funeral

They haven't been in touch with the deceased's family for over a decade and seem lost during the funeral. You'll find them hesitant before taking a seat, staring at people, and trying to find a single familiar face.

2. The goldmine

The noise of her jewelry announces her arrival. You'll find her rocking a big necklace, many bracelets, and at least four rings.

3. The die-hard detective

They're here out of respect, but the detective in them can't be at peace unless they keep screening guests. The worst part is when they start interrogating the grieving family, expecting them to answer silly questions.

4. The guest with the embarrassing ringtone

To their unfortunate bad luck, they have the most embarrassing of ringtones and they forgot to mute their phone.

It only takes one phone call for their face to turn tomato-red.

5. The one who just can't wait to leave

You'll find this guest sitting on the edge of their seat, eagerly waiting for the sheikh to finish reciting for them to leave.

6. The one who really is at the wrong funeral

They just innocently walk in without checking if this is the right gathering until they notice they know absolutely no one.

7. The honest guest

They can say the most inappropriate of comments at the funeral, which gets extra awkward when the Qur'an recitation suddenly stops and everyone hears it all.

8. The same "3o2balak" aunt you see everywhere

This time, of course, she won't say 3o2balak... but if you dare introduce her to any friend or colleague accompanying you, you're in trouble.

The next thing you hear is "When are you getting engaged!" and "You shouldn't let this beautiful girl escape from you."

9. The matchmaker

Yes, believe it or not, even this aunt is seen at funerals. She's always thinking about her favorite hobby no matter where she may be.

10. That one guest who laughs during serious moments

Anything, no matter how trivial it may be, will make them laugh wholeheartedly.
