A group of young Yemenis lead by Yasser Abdulbaqi Iam hope to launch a professional film studio in Aden, despite Yemen's ongoing civil war.

According to the group, many young people have already been making quality and entertaining videos for social media channels. However, this would be greatly enhanced if they had a professional facility available. So, Iam and her friends decided to turn to crowdfunding to make that idea a reality.

"T hrough your help, we can find the resources to fund a television studio. Here we will equip young people with the tools and knowledge necessary to realize their artistic passions," the Zoomaal crowdfunding page for the project says .

The studio will be used to teach others about filmmaking and for the production of various video projects. Referring to the studio as "Jedaria Media," the group hopes to greatly enhance the quality of production coming out of Aden.

"We all realize that building a fully equipped studio needs a lot of money, but we are doing our best to stretch resources and construct the highest quality production facility with minimal costs. We need a vacant building to rent, cameras, high-tech computers, and furniture. $15,000 will make this dream possible," the page says.

Although Yemen has been rocked by civil war since last year, the group believes this project can make a meaningful impact in the lives of many young people. It will provide some needed normalcy as well as an outlet for individuals to express themselves in a creative way.

"Civil war has shattered the peace of Yemen and our beloved city, Aden. The costs of war are many, but if you can assist in our vision, our spirits and dreams for the future can remain strong."
