World-renowned composer and musician Yanni announced that his historic concert at Egypt's Pyramids of Giza would be broadcast in the United States in March, according to AFP .
The prominent Greek-American keyboardist and producer performed at the world-famous landmark in October on two consecutive nights, his first-ever concerts in Egypt .
"Yanni: The Dream Concert - Live from the Great Pyramids of Egypt" will air on the American public broadcaster PBS, it will also be available on DVD and Blu-ray through PBS.
The film marks Yanni's 12th concert film for PBS, his first one was a recording of his famous concert at the Acropolis in Greece in 1993. His most recent one was 2012's "Yanni: Live at El Morro, Puerto Rico," which is a recording of his concert at the Castillo de San Felipe del Morro in Puerto Rico.
Like all of his concerts at the world's most significant heritage sites, Yanni's "dream concert" at the Pyramids was a monumental success, with both shows sold out.
The concert, in which Yanni performed his famous music with a 15-member orchestra at the foot of the Sphinx, featured a spectacular light show that illuminated the ancient structures, as well as a firework show.
One of the concert's main highlights was when NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly, a friend of Yanni's, delivered a beautiful video message to the audience from the International Space Station, in which he talked about what he's learned from seeing the Pyramids from space.
Yanni is considered by many to be the world's leading instrumental music artist. He is credited with creating New Age instrumental music, a unique blend of fusion-jazz, world music, classical, and soft rock.
He is known for his critically acclaimed and commercially successful concerts around the world, his concerts are famous for their incredible technical features, especially the lighting, which is often timed to the music itself to emphasize solos and special moments.
